Motorola has released its smartphone after a long time with Moto G22.

The last time Motorola released a phone was three months ago with Moto E40. Motorola has not been so active in releasing its smartphones in Nepal. Its irregularity may cost its popularity and people may opt for other brands for their reliability.

Moto G22 is a budget offering from Motorola. The phone comes with a standard display size with a decent refresh rate. The quad-camera setup can be an attractive factor for those seeking multiple camera options in a single phone. The selfie camera sensor that offers higher resolution also looks good on the phone. The battery backup is also pretty much normal for the segment.

To know more about the Moto G22, let’s get into the details.

Moto G22 comes with a glass front, plastic back and a plastic frame build. The phone comes with a trendy flat-back design and round corners. The back panel houses a camera panel, which looks a bit different from the ones found on the market these days. The iconic “batwing” branding of Motorola is done in the middle, which looks great. The design of the phone is said to be water-repellent, which should be able to withstand light splashes of water.

The phone weighs around 185 grams and is 8.50 mm thick. It is available in cosmic black, iceberg blue and pearl white colour options.

On the front of the Moto G22 is a 6.50-inch IPS LCD display offering a resolution of 720*1,600 pixels and 268 PPI density. The screen-to-body ratio on the phone is almost 90 per cent and it helps in providing a broader view of the media. Likewise, the display also supports a 90Hz refresh rate allowing for a more smooth response from the screen. The phone offers dual biometrics: face unlocks and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Moto G22 has come up with a number game by offering a quad camera setup. The main 50MP camera on the back is housed together with an 8MP ultrawide with 118-degrees FOV, and a couple of 2MP macro and depth sensors having an aperture of f/2.4. The main camera also has a PDAF feature for quick and accurate focus. Meanwhile, on the front resides a 16MP wide selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.5.

Some of the camera modes on the phone are portrait, photo, video, panorama night vision, pro mode, ultra-wide, face beauty, HDR, 50M high-res, timer assistive and macro vision. For video recording, both front and back cameras on the phone are capable of capturing 1080p resolution videos at 30fps.

Moto G22 runs on Android 12 providing a near-stock Android experience to the users. The phone is powered by MediaTek Helio G37 (12nm) chipset while the graphics are handled by PowerVR GE8320. The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The user has the option to further expand the storage with a microSD card and there is a dedicated slot on the phone.

Moto G22 has a 5,000mAh non-removable li-po battery backup. Motorola says the battery will get a life of 37.8 hours when fully charged. Charging the battery is a 15W charger. There is a 20W fast charging variant, but it is unlikely to release here.

For connectivity, Moto G22 supports dual sim cards with up to 4G network connectivity. The support of dual-band wifi on the phone means better performance and flexibility. The phone also supports NFC and GPS. Bluetooth 5.0 feature on the phone can be used for wireless pairing while the USB Type-C 2.0 cable can be used for charging as well as wired pairing. For the audio, the phone has a single speaker and a single microphone with the availability of a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The price of the Moto G22 is Rs 22,499.
