NVIDIA and ViewSonic have revealed the Elite XG272G-2K, an upcoming 27-inch monitor that the former markets as one of four 'G-SYNC esports displays'. Erroneously, ViewSonic's model number implies that the monitor has a 2K resolution. However, its 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution is 2.5 K, most commonly referred to as 1440p.

According to NVIDIA, the ViewSonic Elite XG272G-2K supports Dual-Format, Reflex Analyzer and Esports Vibrance features, plus NVIDIA G-SYNC. Also, the 27-inch gaming monitor has a 300 Hz refresh rate, believed by TFT Central to be overclocked from a native 240 Hz. Apparently, the Elite XG272G-2K utilises Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) display technology too, an IPS-type panel.

Additionally, TFT Central reports that ViewSonic has integrated mini LED backlights, with 576 dimming zones spread across the monitor's 27-inch panel. Supposedly, the Elite XG272G-2K will be VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified when it arrives in Q3 2022, which should mean 1,000 nits of peak brightness, a 10-bit colour depth and at least 95% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. Pricing and regional availability remain unknown at this stage.
