The new Aventon Level.2 commuter e-bike is now available in the US, the company’s first model with a torque sensor. The sensor can intelligently increase the power output from the motor as it senses you pedalling harder. The bicycle is powered by a 500 W brushless rear hub motor, with a peak power of 750 W and five assistance levels. The engine can assist you at speeds up to 28 mph (~45 kph) as pedal assistance or 20 mph (~32 kph) on the throttle alone.

The assistance range is up to 60 miles (~97 km), thanks to a 672 Wh lithium-ion battery; you can fully recharge the power pack in around five hours. The Level.2 has a built-in LCD backlit color display, showing information such as your speed and distance travelled, which can also be viewed in the accompanying app. For comfort, the bicycle has coil spring suspension and 27.5-in x 2.1-in (~70 x 5.3 cm) tires with reflective sidewalls. 180 mm hydraulic disc brakes ensure short stopping distances, and the bike comes with an integrated kickstand.

The bicycle has a 6061 aluminum frame with smooth welds and a built-in headlight and rear light. Weighing 54 lbs (~24 kg), the bike can support payloads up to 300 lbs (~136 kg). You can buy the Aventon Level.2 electric bicycle in the US for US$1,949. The bike is available with step-through and step-over frames, each coming in two colors, with two frame size options to suit riders from 4 ft 11-in to 6 ft 2-in (~150 to 190 cm).
