Nissan has opened its order books for the new version of its “iconic” X-Trial seven-seat SUV, with prices starting from £32,030.

Set to be the second Nissan model – after the new Qashqai – to feature the Japanese carmaker’s e-Power petrol hybrid drivetrain, the new X-Trail will also be offered with the option of a 1.5-litre petrol mild hybrid powerplant.

UK deliveries will start in October with Visia (from £32,030), Acenta Premium (from £33,705), N-Connecta (from £36,530), Tekna (from £39,850) and Tekna+ (from £42,520) and a choice of five- or seven-seat configurations and two- or four-wheel-drive available to customers.

Nissan claims CO2 emissions as low as 132g/km from its most efficient, two-wheel-drive e-Power model, alongside fuel economy of between 47.3 and 48.6mpg, while boot space had grown 20 litres, to 585, to further boost practicality with the third row of seats folded.

Welcoming the arrival of the new model, following the recent addition of the Ariya electric vehicle (EV) to Nissan’s UK showrooms, Nissan GB managing director Andrew Humberstone said: “We’re excited that this icon which is synonymous with family adventures will be joining the Nissan range soon.

“We are confident that customers will love its unique combination of electrified performance, steady handling and robust practicality.

“As one would expect from a Nissan, it will offer unique customer appeal and we can’t wait to see it in our showrooms.”

The new X-Trail features design features including a ‘floating roof’ and V-motion grille, while customers will be able to choose from a range of 10 body colours with five two-tone combinations.

Inside, in-car Wi-Fi allows connectivity for up to seven devices, while NissanConnect Services and a dedicated app with which to interact with and monitor the vehicle.

Nissan’s latest NissanConnect touchscreen infotainment display serves up a 12.3-inch screen, while a new 12.3-inch TFT multi-information screen offers a choice of configurable layouts to display navigation, entertainment, traffic or vehicle information.

In addition, a new 10.8-inch head-up display provides what Nissan claims is “the biggest-in-segment image size”, providing key navigation, driver assistance and road information.
